I think I understand position of Mr. Postelnicu. And of course, that of Mr.Ionita. Mr. Andrei Postelnicu sees right because I presume that he sees Romania from abroad. Which makes him see the forrest, not the trees. Whereas, we, standing in the forrest we see mostly the trees. Where are the intellectuals which are seen by Mr. Ionita everywhere around us and where are those unseen by Mr. Postelnicu ?
From 6th of December after finishing a study on the last TV electoral debate, working for 3-4 months on the study, I was sick of the stuff and bullshit. So I have erased the news stations from my TV set cable programming, on both TVs, I rennounced to consume Hotnews.ro and Realitatea FM, and I avoid when zapping to be caught by the news/actuality debates.
I won't get into more details, but saying only that I have seriously re-arranged my media consumption. If you let apart the fishbowl which we think being inside, it means for us we are in the middle of the flock, suprisingly no debate is in the real world.
Let look to the Academy of Economic Studies, name a list of 10 professors which are openly skeptical of the economic and social model of Europe, have written works, have a Ph.D of some sort on that area ? Can you organise a whistle-blower series of conferences of Euro-skepticals lecturers, with academic works in the field ? Let look not in the academia, but in the business world. Take the 300 list of money makers, take the 500 list of money makers. How many of them were openly against the accession, how many funded think-tanks of free-thinking ? I remember only Mr. Tiriac which have said, nomine odiosa, that we should delay accession.
We can continue this discusssion.
One of my projects is a whistle blower series of conferences. Lecturers to speak about the so called "uncomfortable truths". Like the myth of the climate change, or about GMOs versus classical agribusiness with pesticides, or about the fact that pensions are just a pie we must share and why should I pay some people pensions if they did not contribute enough, or about why the agriculture is not considered a for profit business and all of us should pay subsidies ? And so on.
Are there in Romania available rushdies, gougenheims, people with guts to stand against the common sense individualism, apathy, ignorance, obedience ? There are more people like one, Mr.Postelnicu, which are seeking intelectuals to shake this country, which lacks projects, ideas and a fertile debate to upbring change of Romanian society.
Thanks, Tiberiu
